Merchant Adoption is Important. Here’s Why
by Marvin Dumont
The foundation seeks merchants who will accept Apollo all-in-one privacy currency (APL). Target jurisdictions include Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Australia, African continent, and elsewhere.
Merchant adoption is essential for any cryptocurrency project, and Apollo is no exception. A case study is Dash’s successful penetration in South America, where high inflation in Venezuela and Argentina are spurring businesses to use fiat U.S. dollars, Bitcoin, and Dash.
The ecosystem has also responded by offering crypto-enabled mobile devices, ATMs, conversion services, and more.
Apollo’s rich features give vendors a few advantages:
- Privacy and anonymity
- An appreciating currency-asset (instead of devaluing fiat)
- Fast transactions
- Low transaction cost
- Blockchain settlement
- Coin mixing
- Decentralized exchange
For brick-and-mortar stores, using physical cash is expensive. Think of armored trucks, storage, transportation to and from banks, depreciation, and theft.
Moreover, while debit cards are cheap, credit cards are expensive to a point where they cannibalize too much profitability.
Many cryptos, such as Apollo, have cheap transaction fees. But local ecosystems (in target countries) will also have to step up to offer conversion services because merchants have to pay their bills in fiat.
Secondly, vendors will need a healthy cash position to receive a (small) portion of payments in cryptos. Success begets success.
That’s also the price for taking advantage of the above rich features, including privacy, fast transactions, and rising asset value. But the alternative is credit cards — a toxic option for a brutally-competitive industry with fragile margins.
Merchants are important. They’re the front-line troops of commerce. Retailers are the gateway to mass consumers.
Once merchants understand how to use Apollo, they in turn educate the mainstream. Tech-progressive vendors are essential to informing and educating new users.
Apollo (APL) all-in-one privacy currency combines features of mainstream cryptocurrencies in an unregulatable platform. With two-second block speed, APL is one of the fastest cryptos on Earth. The privacy platform lets “Apollonauts” transact and send data anonymously via Encrypted Messaging, Private Ledger, Decentralized Exchange, IP Masking 2.0 and Coin Mixing.
